Connection is an interior architecture project by LiLeón for St. George’s Anglican Church and serves as a concrete example of how architecture can facilitate coexistence among individuals in space. The installation is conceived as an interior design intervention, consisting of panels made from tobacco leaves, creating a dynamic and living space where visitors can recognize the infinite web of relationships that underlie the social fabric, rediscovering their connections with nature.
The Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic has chosen the project “Connection” by architect artist LiLeón (Lidia León Cabral) and art critic Roberta Semeraro to represent the Dominican Republic’s pavilion at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.
The pavilion is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic, the LiLeón Foundation, and the Ro.Sa.M. Cultural Association, enjoys the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic and the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Italy, and is supported by Banco BHD León.
