Conexión RD

One of the pavilions that draws attention not only for its creative imprint but also for its artistically multifaceted proposal is ‘Conexión’ from the Dominican Republic by artist and architect Lidia León Cabral and art critic Roberta Semeraro. The exhibition is presented in the Anglican Church of Saint George and was conceived as an interior design project consisting of panels made from tobacco leaves that create a lively and dynamic space, serving as a concrete example of how architecture can enhance the conditions for coexistence among individuals in the space.

After being postponed twice due to the pandemic, the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale opened on May 22nd with the participation of over sixty countries under the theme “How will we live together?” reflecting on the future coexistence after a world transformed by the virus. The international exhibition, curated by Lebanese architect Hashim Sarkis, will remain open until November 21st with pavilions located between the Gardens, the Arsenale, and the historic center of the city of canals.
